Welcome
to egoSite's FAQ area
This
area of the site contains some of the frequently asked
questions we are asked from our clients or people interested
in egoSite.
Why
should I upgrade my copy of egoSite?
egoSite is constantly evolving, by upgrading you will
ensure you get the newest functionality which will make
your editing experience much easier.
How can I order / upgrade
egoSite?
You can order direct from Egovision simply by contacting
us.
Why are upgrades not free?
Like any commercial software, there is a cost to developing
egoSite and since Egovision do not charge a monthly
subscription for using it, we can not afford to give
these updates away free. Security Fixes and bug fixes
are FREE.
Is egoSite Secure?
egoSite uses password protection to
stop unauthorised people from gaining access to your
CMS. Once logged in, server sides sessions
and cookies are used to verify the user. Permission
levels stored within the system mean that even authorised
users can have restrictions on the functionality and
content they see.
How do I access the CMS
once installed on my website?
egoSite is always accessible via http://YOUR_DOMAIN/cms/
Why is egoMailer &
egoStore on the egoSite website?
egoStore is powered by the egoSite engine but is configured
to run an e-commerce site rather than a normal website.
egoMailer can be installed as a module of egoSite so
that the system is all in one. (negating the need to
login to both independently)
Will egoSite work with
any website?
egoSite potentially can run any website, it's power
comes from the ability to set it up depending on what
each client needs. At the moment egoSite needs to be
set up by Egovision although we are currently working
on an auto installer and Unique Mark-up Language to
allow users to install and create their own website
templates for the system.
How much does egoSite
cost?
As egoSite needs to be set-up by Egovision, we will
quote for this on a job by job basis to make sure you
get the best value for your money.
If I buy egoSite do I
get free support?
As egoSite is simply a 1 off cost, support for using
the software is provided under a separate agreement
called a Service Level Agreement (SLA) which is charged
yearly. Support for Bugs is provided free of charge
